Hugs of the Sky - Psychedelic Pop Corn
23-05-2023

After recording its last few albums completely in its typical, chaotic and anarchist DIY-style on the dusty attic of Boris and Sigi, Hugs of the Sky decided to go on a quest to the Ardennes for its new EP ‘Psychedelic Pop Corn’: between the misty mountain rivers and the forsaken Walloon pubs lies the GAM Studio, where the band collaborated with the most charming yet lunatic production duo of Belgium, Kasper De Sutter (El Yunque, Pilkington United) and Frederik Tack from Zottegem. On the new EP the influences of major stoner and fuzz rock bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Ty Segall get combined with hints of goth à la Black Sabbath and the catchy hooks of Beck or Tame Impala. Joe Carra, who teamed up with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard earlier, took care of the mastering. It resulted in four ecstatic stoner punk sing-alongs, perfectly fit to cheer up all of your post-apocalyptic balloon parties.
