After concerts with Tad, Alice Donut and Victims Family, Junkfish was increasingly profiling itself as Belgium's most idiosyncratic group.
Their music is a fusion of Fugazi's hardcore and Meat Beat Manifesto's punk rap house. Judiciously, infectious, psychotic guitar riffs are combined with driven rhythms and wry, commanding vocals.
Hysterical samples and synthesizer parts round off the whole, driven by critical - but always with an underlying sarcasm - lyrics.

Their first double-single "About You / She Said" was recorded at the Brussels Studio Caraïbes with engineer Pascal Flamme in Oct. 1990.
The recordings were done by Karel De Backer, the band's live engineer & Lieven Callens.
